Dear Parents and Guardians: My name is Bart Ovnicek. I am the new Vo-Ag teacher and FFA advisor here at Melstone School, and am happy to be here working with your students. You are invited to a “get-to-know-me and I get to know the Melstone community” meeting this Monday, August 28th at 6:30pm. It will be in the Vo-Ag classroom and shop. I will share about me. I will go over expectations for my students. I will talk about some current plans and our goals for FFA. If you are curious about Vo-Ag or FFA please come. I look forward to meeting you. Parent/player high school football meeting at the Melstone School on Wednesday, August 9th at 7:30 First practice Friday, August 11th at 8:00 am and 6:00 pm. Saturday, August 12th practice 8:00 am and 6:00 pm. Melstone players will have the option to stay overnight Friday with a host family. Details can be arranged at meeting.

First day of high school volleyball practice will be Monday, August 14 at 7:45 a.m.

Melstone Public Schools Hiring Committee will be interviewing 2 candidates for Superintendent/ Principal position for FY2024. This meeting will be in the Melstone Public School Library at 3:00 & 4:30pm on July 31st,2023. This meeting is open to the public.

URGENT! TR-4 Individual Transportation Contract forms are due Wednesday, June 28th, 2023 by 1:00pm. Parents still have the opportunity to submit a contract for eligible students. MCA 20-10-142 states that parents/guardians transporting eligible transportees more than 3 miles to the nearest bus route or school will be reimbursed according to the schedule of maximum reimbursement for individual transportation. Email tracy.pare@melstone.net for a blank form, or fill one out at the school on Wednesday from 8am-1pm

Melstone Elementary students will be playing bingo for books on Tuesday May 23rd at 2:30pm Parents Invited! Come and win books for your child to support summer reading!

Remember tomorrow is BPA/FFA/National Honor Society at 7:00 pm. Please bring a dessert as desserts will be all that is served.

Any interest in visiting the school library throughout the summer? Wanted to invite parents to get ahold of me if so! Depending on interest, I could set a bimonthly time where parents and kids could visit the school and get new books! Thanks! - Sara
