Student Council

The Melstone School Student Council is affiliated on the state level with Montana Association of Student Councils, MASC, and the National Association of Student Councils, NASC. The Student Council represents the entire student body at Melstone School.

The Council promotes student activities and oversees fundraisers at the school. We are in charge of the power-aide/water machines at the school and are currently involved in the Child Wellness Program. We take part in the Student Handbook decisions and address any concerns or ideas the students may have. We hold meetings once a month during the lunch break. Students can bring ideas and concerns to the council at this time. We help raise money for the honor roll trips.

All students grades 7-12 are invited every year to attend the State Student Council Conference in the fall. This conference is a very uplifting experience with tons of leadership activities and inspirational speakers. Students stay with host families which are wonderful people who treat the students like kings or queens.

Also, Student Council helps with community service like delivering cookies to the Senior Citizens at Christmas, Ice Cream Socials, Remembrance Tree Lighting, and any other needs that may arise. The Student Council Officers are role models at the school who take their job seriously and are always in concern of the students and their needs. This year's officers are:
